Birmingham’s draft budget 2014+ and our Public libraries

The Budget headlines!
Library services in Birmingham to be cut by a total of £2.34m to be made in 2014-15.
£690k to be cut from Community Library budget rising to £1.058m in 2015-16
The draft budget confirms closure of four Community libraries
The four Districts making the largest library cuts are Sutton Coldfield (£190k), Northfield (£170K), Selly Oak (£95K) and Ladywood (£83k).
The Districts making no cuts to their libraries are Edgbaston, Hall Green, and Hodge Hill.
£1.65m is to be cut from the budget of Strategic library services which includes the Library of Birmingham.Including possible cuts to the LoB opening hours.
The Library services at home and Mobile library service to be cut by £100k involving significant reductions in the level of service.
