Join us on 10th October outside the Library of Birmingham to celebrate library services across our city at the biggest library in Europe and to begin a mass protest against the cuts to libraries and other services across Birmingham and elsewhere.
Earlier this year we saw the slashing of the opening hours if the central library, the removal of the budget for new books, and 90 redundancies of library staff. This story was echoed in community libraries across Birmingham and across many other cities in the UK.
We will be joined by musicians, poets, artists and authors for our festival of protest that coincides with the Birmingham Literature Festival, and are supported by many local activist and community groups.
