Reclaiming the library: occupation, protest, and the neoliberal public space

James Moran writes for Birmingham Socialist Students and Defend Education Birmingham on the LoB occupations over the summer of this year.  He reflects on the issues of critical mass, and how to build momentum for the campaign, and provides web links to the media coverage. ‘Activism is often something that people do around the edges of their busy lives’ he writes, and makes the point that there have been so many campaign issues this year that it has been hard to focus action. ‘The Library of Birmingham waits for us to reclaim it.’
